Our On Screen Award pays tribute to groundbreaking creations in film and television informed by great fiction. Additionally, our Lifetime of Excellence in Fiction Award honors writers who, through their exceptional bodies of work, have significantly shaped our culture and perspective.

First Novel Prize
The Center for Fiction First Novel Prize is awarded to the best debut novel of the year. The winner receives a $15,000 prize and each finalist receives $1,000.

Every year nine New York City-based emerging writers receive a grant that includes $5,000; space and time to write in our writers studio; opportunities to meet agents; and more.
