The Center for Fiction gives out four awards annually. It honors early-career fiction writers through its First Novel Prize and Emerging Writers Fellowships, and distinguished editors and agents in the field with its Maxwell E. Perkins Award. Its On Screen Award pays tribute to groundbreaking creations in film and television informed by great fiction. The Center also works with partners in Italy to present the Bridge Book Award for translations into Italian and English of contemporary works of fiction and nonfiction.
