The Center for Fiction*
Escape the heat outside and join us at The Center for Fiction* for a day of (air-conditioned) steamy romance! Grab a delicious iced drink from the Café & Bar and settle in for a marathon of Season 2, episodes 1-6 of Bridgerton, Netflix’s Regency-era romance series of wealth, lust, and betrayal. The viewing marathon will last from 12-6pm.
Then at 6pm we’ll welcome bestselling authors Sarah Maclean (Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake) and Adriana Herrera (A Caribbean Heiress in Paris) to the stage for a discussion of the third act breakup of the romance genre, followed by an audience Q&A. After the conversation, you’re invited to stay and have another drink in the Café & Bar, check out the newly curated romance section of the Bookstore, and trade your Bridgerton hot takes with fellow viewers!
Bridgerton aficionados, romance readers, and total newbies to the show and genre welcome!

USA Today bestselling author Adriana was born and raised in the Caribbean, but for the last fifteen years has let her job (and her spouse) take her all over the world. She loves writing stories about people who look and sound like her people, getting unapologetic happy endings. When she’s not dreaming up love stories, planning logistically complex vacations with her family or hunting for discount Broadway tickets, she’s a trauma therapist in New York City, working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
New York Times, Washington Post and USA Today bestseller Sarah MacLean is the author of historical romance novels that have been translated into more than twenty-five languages. Sarah is a leading advocate for the romance genre, speaking widely on its place at the nexus of gender and cultural studies. A romance columnist and co-host of the weekly romance novel podcast, Fated Mates, her work in support of the romance genre and those who read it earned her a place on Jezebel.com’s Sheroes list and led Entertainment Weekly to call her “the elegantly fuming, utterly intoxicating queen of historical romance.” Sarah is a graduate of Smith College and Harvard University. She lives in New York City.
