A book so good Gabriel García Márquez couldn’t sleep until he’d read it twice, Juan Rulfo’s “Pedro Páramo” is a ghost story and a pillar of 20th-century literature. After promising his dying mother that he will seek out his father, protagonist Pedro Páramo journeys to the town of Comala, only to find it haunted by memories, hallucinations, and lore. In this tale, death and life are porous—two sides of the same worthless coin.
Join us in person at The Center for Fiction to discuss this modern classic. Please read “Pedro Paramo” by Juan Rulfo before our session and come ready for discussion! No prior knowledge of the story is required.
