A wonderful book, a delicious meal, a relaxing cocktail, and stimulating conversation. We will read Mistress of Spices by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, High Bonnet by Idwal Jones, Butter Honey Bread Pig by Francesca Ekwuyasi and The Scavenger’s Guide to Haute Cuisine by Steven Rinella. Our discussions will focus on writing styles and information about each author, as well as the focus on food as sustenance, symbol, and means of expression. We hope everyone will create a dish whose recipe they can share with others. Serving yourself cocktails, beer, or wine during the conversation is encouraged!
