In solidarity with our fellow indie booksellers, we hosted a fundraiser for the Book Industry Charitable Foundation’s COVID-19 relief fund with special guests Jericho Brown (The Tradition), Carmen Maria Machado (In the Dream House), Celeste Ng (Little Fires Everywhere), and Karen Russell (Orange World). This event was the season finale of The Antibody, a weekly reading and Q&A hosted by Brian Gresko.
BINC is a nonprofit that coordinates charitable programs to strengthen the bookselling community. Since March, BINC’s COVID-19 response has provided assistance to bookstore employees and shop owners with serious medical expenses, funeral expenses, domestic violence survival, eviction and utility shut-off prevention, unexpected loss of household income, and more.
