General Membership Benefits

Starting at $180/year, general membership includes:

  • Access to Member Spaces
    Visit our tech-free Reading Room, tech-friendly Lounge, and outdoor Terrace when we reopen our member spaces on October 1, 2021.
  • Library Borrowing Privileges
    Use of our pick-up/drop-off service for borrowing privileges from our circulating collection of over 70,000 titles!
  • Year-Round Discounts
    Receive 10% off bookstore and café purchases, event tickets, writing workshops, and reading groups throughout the year.
  • Exclusive Member Previews
    Browse and enroll in new reading groups and writing workshops before we share them with the public. Get the first chance to sign up before classes sell out!

    Free monthly afternoon reading group led by our Head Librarian Allison Escoto.

Membership is a tax-deductible donation to The Center for Fiction with benefits that are subject to change.

The Writers Studio

Open every day from 8am to 10pm, our Writers Studio is located in a beautiful, bright space on our second floor. We accept writers of all genres and people at all different stages of their career.

Founders Society

The Center for Fiction’s Founders Society provides an opportunity to engage individual donors for their generous support and draw them closer to the Center’s work & mission.

Founders Society membership levels are named for characters from three foundational novels: Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude, and Toni Morrison’s Sula.

    Membership at the Elizabeth Bennet level includes:

Gift Memberships

Give the gift of membership to The Center for Fiction—it’s the perfect present for your literary loved ones! 

When you buy a gift membership, a certificate will be emailed to you within 24 hours, so that you can print it out or send it to the recipient. It will include information on how to obtain a membership card in person.

Please be assured that we will not contact the gift recipient unless you specifically request that we do so. We ask that you provide the recipient’s full name, email address, and mailing address in the Additional Notes field at checkout. If you have any questions, please email info@centerforfiction.org.
