Join us for a special edition of Story Time at the Bookstore with David Unger as he shares his newest children’s book, José Feeds the World! Discover the true story of chef and activist José Andrés, from learning about the power of cooking as a child in Spain to founding the World Central Kitchen, a disaster-relief organization that uses food to nourish communities after catastrophe strikes.

    David Unger

    David Unger received Guatemala’s Miguel Angel Asturias National Literature Prize for lifetime achievement in 2014. He has published five novels and has translated 16 books. His children’s books are José Feeds the World (Duopress, 2024), Moley Mole / Topo Pecoso (Green Seeds Publishing, 2021).  Sleeping with the Light On (Groundwood Books, 2020), and La Casita (2011, CIDCLI).
