Author Lily Brooks-Dalton joins us for a conversation on the book-to-screen adaptation of her major debut success Good Morning, Midnight, which was lauded by Colson Whitehead as the best book he read in 2016. She is joined in conversation by screenwriter Mark L. Smith and producer Grant Heslov, who both helped transform the novel into the film The Midnight Sky. Anna Pitoniak (Necessary People), who edited Good Morning, Midnight, will moderate.

The post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home amidst a mysterious global catastrophe. Clooney also directed the Netflix adaptation of the novel.

Presented in collaboration with Netflix.
