Visit The Center for Fiction
The Center for Fiction is a home for readers and writers, located at 15 Lafayette Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn.
Visitors are welcome in our Bookstore and Café & Bar, open to the public every day from 9am to 8pm. Members of The Center for Fiction also enjoy daily access to our Library, featuring our second-floor lounge, reading rooms, and outdoor terrace. Our Writers Studio offers writers extended access to the building with a shared creative workspace and opportunities to connect.

Bookstore
The Center for Fiction Bookstore’s floor-to-ceiling shelves feature fiction and nonfiction for all ages, including bestsellers, imports, and rare finds alike.

Café & Bar
The Café & Bar serves a rotating menu of coffee, tea, espresso, beer, wine, cocktails, and light bites with seating in our sunlit, book-lined space.

Housing a dynamic fiction collection, our Library provides members space to read and gather in our lounge, reading rooms, and outdoor terrace.

Writers Studio
Located in a beautiful, bright space on our second floor, the Writers Studio provides a quiet space to work featuring private desks, extended hours, and more amenities for writers.

Spend a day in our members-only spaces, including our lounge, reading rooms, and outdoor terrace.

Members, please check the Member Calendar for upcoming events and closures. During the hours when the Library is closed, hold requests will be available for pickup every day from the designated book cart in the Bookstore.
