Dear Friends of The Center,

We’d like to offer a small collection of exceptional fiction—new and old, long and short—from Ukraine. A short list of nonfiction titles provides some historical context for the country and its struggles, as well as a must-see film. Our hearts and minds are with the Ukrainian people at this time.

We have also programmed two related events next month. On April 5th we will present two novels set in Moscow before and after the fall of the Soviet Union; and on April 20th we will host an event in partnership with Razom for Ukraine.

We encourage you to visit Razom for Ukraine's website to learn more about their efforts.

Sincerely,

Melanie Fleishman

Maidan

SERGEI LOZNITSA

I urge everyone to stream the extraordinary 2015 documentary film, Maidan, which is two hours of the 2013-2014 protests in Maidan—no talking heads, no interviews, no score, you are a fly on the wall in Kyiv’s Independence Square.
