This workshop will allow you to tap into your voice and craft an impactful personal essay. It will walk you through planning, outlining, and the structure to develop a bold narrative that leans into the personal. In this course, you will be given writing and revision prompts, read diverse personal essays and discuss the strategies that make them pop.

    Christina Santi

    Christina Santi

    Christina Santi is a director of communications and multimedia journalist whose work centers Blackness across the diaspora. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Christina considers herself a well-read, not-so-traditional feminist with a heavy interest in music, fashion, and pop culture. Her work has appeared in Ebony magazine, Demeter Press, and other literary and fashion outlets, often drawing on her experiences as a first-generation Afro-Latinx in America. She has more than ten years of experience as a professional writer, including roles as Senior Digital Content Producer at Black News Channel, Publicist for Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and Lead Culture Writer for Ebony magazine. Christina is a 2022 Los Angeles Review of Books Publishing Fellow and holds an MA in Creative Publishing and Critical Journalism from the New School.
