For the Culture: Summer Stories

A pop-up collaboration showcasing local comedy, burlesque, music, and Blackness! Hosted by Kara Lindsay and Christiana Jackson. Performances by DJ Myah Moves, Momoh Pujeh, Abby Fantastic, Kareem Woods, Blaise Vacca, Emily Trippe Duke, and Lucy Risqué.

Tickets are $15 online, $20 at the door, and 10% of all ticket sales will benefit the National Black Child Development Institute. The NBCDI is a philanthropy that strives to use education and advocacy to better the lives of Black children and their families.

For the Culture is a monthly popup that is produced by Kara Lindsay (Chief Checkahoe). Kara Lindsay founded For the Culture in the fall of 2018 with the mission of establishing a cultural foundation to uplift the Black community.

She believes that each For the Culture show is an opportunity to educate via entertainment; often a percentage of ticket sales are donated to local philanthropy. To date For the Culture has raised money for a multitude of charities including Black Girls Smile, the ACLU, and A Better Jamaica.
