Take a Writing Workshop at The Center

 

We’ve been talking to the writers who come through our doors and reach out to us through the web and we’ve been hearing one thing repeatedly—where in New York City can writers find low-cost workshops led by great writers? In response, we’ve assembled an incredible roster of writers to teach here beginning this spring. The program has been a great success and we will be continuing in the fall. Below you can see a list of our spring teachers. We look forward to working with them and others in the future. Stay tuned for our fall line-up of writing workshops. 

 

We’re offering workshops for writers at all levels. Whether you’re a fledgling writer or an MFA graduate polishing your novel, you’ll find a perfect fit here. All workshops take place in the evening and starts are staggered throughout the season.

Need a place to write?
The Center for Fiction provides quiet space for writers to work in Midtown Manhattan.  We accept writers of all genres and people at all different stages of their career.  All writers are welcome at the Studio and those attending a workshop receive an additional 20% off membership.

 

Our writing studio is located in a beautiful, sky-lit space on our top floor. It provides the perfect setting conducive to the craft of writing.  Read more

 

 

We are now accepting applications for our 2013 NYC Emerging Writers Fellowship. The Center will select nine early-career New York City writers to participate in this year-long fellowship program.  Fellows receive time and space in the Center's Writers' Studio, a cash award of $4,000, mentorships with agents and editors, opportunities for public readings at The Center, full access to The Center's fiction and writers' collections, and more.  Learn about the program and apply today.
